Date: November 27, 2005
Location:
Detroit, Michigan
Arena: Joe Louis Arena
This Pay-Per-View was a
Co-production between RAW™ and SmackDown™
Match Number One
- The First Match In The Best Of Seven Series To Determine The
Undisputed United States Champion.
Chris Benoit Vs. Booker T. with Sharmell in his corner.
This match was the opening match for the Survivor Series.
It was very good. The
ending saw Chris Benoit attempting to hit the "headbutt"
off the top rope, however he missed.
Then Booker T. rolled Benoit up, Booker’s feet ended up on
the ropes with Sharmell holding on in order for Booker to pick up
the pin-fall victory in this match to give Booker T. a 1-0 advantage
in the best of Seven Series.
Match Number Two -
An Inter-promotional Match between RAW and SmackDown.
WWE™
Women’s Championship: WWE™
Women’s Champion, Trish Stratus (RAW™)
Vs. Melina (SmackDown™).
This match was good. The
ending saw Trish hit the Stratusfaction off the top rope to pick up
the pin-fall victory to retain her Championship.
Match Number Three
- Last Man Standing. Intercontinental Champion, Ric Flair
Vs. Triple H. The rule for this match was, the first Superstar to not
answer the 10 count loses the match.
This was a very good match.
The ending saw Triple H hit the Pedigree on Ric Flair; but it
didn't work. He then
followed up with a Second Pedigree, then a third, none of which
worked. Triple H then
went under the ring and found a sledgehammer and hit Flair on top of
his head; in which he could not answer the 10 count.
As a result, Triple H won this match.
Afterwards, Edge came out and announced that there would be a
new interview segment called the "Cutting Edge" and Lita
would be his co-host. Then
he acknowledged a Detroit Tiger who was at the Survivor Series,
Detroit Tigers, Designated Hitter, Dmitri Young.
Edge started to talk trash about Baseball and that some
baseball players take steroids.
Match Number Four -
WWE™
Championship. WWE™
Champion, John Cena Vs. Kurt Angle, with Daivari as the special
Guest Referee for this match. This match was all right.
The fans started to boo Cena a lot in this match and was very
loud with a “Cena sucks Cena sucks” chant.
For the most part, the fans favored Angle.
Daivari, during the match was taken out by Cena.
Another referee came in to replace Daivari, however Angle
took him out. Then
another referee came in to replace the referee who was taken out by
Angle; in which Cena took him out.
Finally, a SmackDown referee came down to finish the match. The ending came when Daivari got back into the ring and Cena
gave him a DDT. Cena
followed up with a FU to Angle to pick up the pin-fall victory and
retain his Championship.
Match Number Five
- An Inter-promotional Match between RAW and SmackDown™.
Eric Bischoff, General Manager of RAW Vs. Theodore Long,
General Manager of SmackDown™.
This was an all right match if you could call it that.
The ending saw the Boogeyman enter the ring and hit a
"Pump-Handle Slam" on Eric Bischoff to help Theodore Long
pick up the pin-fall victory.
Match Number Six -
The Main Event. RAW™
Vs. SmackDown™
- 10-Man Survivor Series Elimination Match.
Team RAW™
- Team Captain Shawn Michaels, Carlito, The “Masterpiece” Chris
Masters and the World Tag Team Champions Kane and the Big Show Vs.
Team SmackDown™
- Team Captain World Heavyweight Champion Batista, Randy Orton, Rey
Mysterio, John “Bradshaw” Layfield (JBL) and Bobby Lashley.
This match was all right.
The following are the eliminations that occurred in this
elimination match.
First, Bobby Lashley was
eliminated when Kane hit a "choke slam" on Lashley; then
Shawn Michaels scored the pin-fall to eliminate Bobby Lashley from
the match.
Next was Kane where Rey
Mysterio hit the 619 on Kane and then Batista followed it up with a
"spinebuster" to pick up the pin-fall and the elimination
for his team.
Next was Batista where
Kane, who had not left to return to the dressing room, helped The
Big Show when they delivered a "double choke slam" in
which it led to The Big Show picking up the pin-fall and the
elimination for his team.
Next was The Big Show
where Rey Mysterio hit the 619, followed it up with the
"clothesline from hell" by JBL, and the "RKO".
Rey Mysterio ended up eliminating The Big Show when he hit a
"seated senton" in order to pick up the pin-fall victory
for his team.
Next was Carlito where
JBL hit the "clothesline from hell" to pick up the
pin-fall and the elimination for his team.
Next was Chris Masters.
Rey Mysterio hit the 619 and then followed it up with the
"springboard leg drop" in order to pick up the pin-fall
and the elimination for his team.
Next was Rey Mysterio where Shawn Michaels had hit Mysterio
with the "sweet chin music" to pick up the pin-fall and
the elimination.
Next was JBL where Shawn
Michaels hit the "sweet chin music" again to pick up the
pin-fall and the elimination.
Finally it came down to
Shawn Michaels for his team and Randy Orton for his team.
JBL, for some reason, who was still at ringside picked up a
steel chair and was going to hit Shawn Michaels with it, however he
missed and received a second "sweet chin music" from
Michaels, and when he turned around Randy Orton had hit the RKO to
pick up the pin-fall victory. This
resulted in team SmackDown™
winning the 10-Man Survivor Series™
Elimination Match.
After the match was over
the Undertaker made his WWE™ return at the Survivor
Series before the Pay-Per-View ended.
Some additional comments
regarding the Survivor Series.
I am not sure what the
point was to have Edge come out and bash Baseball and some of their
Players for taking steroids, because this past week Vince McMahon
decided to introduce a drug test policy for his Company, so I
don’t understand their reasoning for this.
There was no announcement
of how many fans were in attendance for this Pay-Per-View; I can
only assume that this Pay-Per-View was not a sell out.
I was not happy with the
WWE™
Championship Match. I
hope real soon the WWE™
decides to have John Cena drop the belt to someone else.
Tonight at the Survivor Series, I thought the fans sent a
loud message to the WWE™
when they booed Cena and started the "Cena sucks" chants.
In my opinion, the WWE™
needs to take the Championship off him and they also need to turn
him heel.
I really enjoyed the Ric
Flair and Triple H, Last Man Standing match.
I think this match could be considered as a "Match Of
The Year Contender".
