Rockin' Robin's March '96 WWF Magazine

A 'Strange Error' in this Magazine.

My March 1996 World Wrestling Federation Magazine incorrectly contains a wrestling card insert that was previously issued as a part of the March 1995 edition.   The March 1995 edition was marked "Vol. 14, No. 3".  Due to a publisher's error in volume numbers for the first portion of 1996, the March 1996 edition is also marked as "Vol. 14, No. 3".  The 1996 magazine should have been marked as Vol. 15, No. 3.  The inserts in these magazines were made of perforated heavyweight paper. They contained a series of wrestling cards.  The cards were only included in the subscription edition of the magazines.  The inserts were not included in the news stand edition.

For some unknown reason, my March 1996 subscription magazine contains the insert that was previously issued as a part of the March 1995 subscription edition.  It does not contain the correct insert that was supposed to be issued as part of the March 1996 subscription edition.  Even to me, this seems somewhat incredible, so I can appreciate that it's probably hard for my website visitors to believe.  As a result, I've included here some images to 'prove' that the magazine is in its original condition.  Close inspection shows that the magazine's staples are in tact and the insert has never been replaced.

If anyone has a similar edition of the March 1996 WWF Magazine, or has any idea as to how this could have happened, I would love to hear from you.  I live in Clarenville, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, so perhaps it was only the Canadian versions of this magazine that got the incorrect insert. It's just a thought.  Please email Rockin' Robin with your ideas

"THE FUNERAL COACH" is shown on the front of card number 8.

The back side of card number eight.

These images are close-up views of card number 8 from the insert page.  It can be seen that it is "The FUNERAL COACH" of the Undertaker. Notice that the text reads "1995 promises to bring many more Federation exhibits..." This is a clear indication that this insert was meant for the March 1995 magazine. In addition, the copyright notice on all these cards reads "© 1995".  The full list of cards contained in this insert is:

  1. Diesel

  2. WrestleMania X® (Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon-Ladder Match)

  3. Bret "Hit Man" Hart

  4. Duke "The Dumpster" Droese

  5. Andre the Giant

  6. 1-2-3 Kid

  7. Well Dunn (Timothy Well & Steven Dunn)

  8. The Funeral Coach

  9. Bushwhackers (Luke & Butch)

These are the page edges as seen from the bottom of the magazine. This shows the location of the insert in relation to the other pages in the magazine.

Front portion of the wrestling cards insert and the right have of page 25 is visible in this image.

This image shows the 'front' portion of the wrestling cards insert that is located between magazine pages 24 and 25. The insert covers the left half of page 25.  The right half of page 25 is visible as the "Travel Club" advertisement.

These close-up images show that the staples holding the magazine together are in their original condition and have not been replaced.  This means that the wrestling card insert could not have been replaced, since it is held in place by these staples.
